Urrbrae House

Urrbrae House was built in 1890 for Mr Peter Waite by the Adelaide architect Charles Howard Marriott. It was the first house in Adelaide to have red roof tiles, and electric lighting, and it also had an extensive refrigeration plant. The house and grounds are available for public inspection.

Migration Museum

South Australia's Museum of immigration and settlement history has developed quick a cult following interstate and overseas for providing some of the most innovative exhibitions on the museum scene.

Adelaide Gaol

Adelaide Gaol was decommissioned in February 1988. Visitors are taken on a conducted tour during which they see conditions for prisoners, the places of execution and exhibitions of artefacts relating to prisons and prison life in South Australia during 147 years.2,000 items, plus buildings.

Woomera Heritage Centre

The Museum has a large variety of displays relating to the geology of the district and European settlement. There is also a detailed history of the rocket range and the community lifestyle.

The University of South Australia Art Museum is one of a national group of university museums and galleries.

Mary MacKillop Penola Centre

Mary Mackillop, a woman ahead of her time - her work & motivation. Early education in Australia Father JT Woods - Priest. Scientist - His interesting and significant scientific work in the region. The Schoolhouse - Historic building of 1867.

Contemporary Art Centre of South Australia

This public gallery has a temporary exhibition program which changes monthly. Publishes Broadsheet, a contemporary visual art and culture quarterly magazine.

Cape Jaffa Lighthouse

The lighthouse stood for 100 years offshore on a reef, 5 miles at sea. When it became obsolete it was dismantled and brought ashore and re-erected in Kingston. The lighthouse is furnished with some of the original furniture and contains all the lantern room equipment.

Aboriginal Artefacts Museum

The Museum houses a collection of artefacts from all parts of Australia, as well as Papua New Guinea, collected by the late Tom McCourt.Approximately 600 items

Museum of Economic Botany

A carpological collection is permanently on display. Other displays encompass plants that are used by mankind eg essential oils, gums and resins, fibre plants, dye plants, food plants, beverage plants, timber plants, etc.

Investigator Science and Technology Centre

The Investigator Science and Technology Centre is South Australia's own interactive Science and Technology Centre. The spirit of The Investigator is learning about science and technology through exciting interactive exhibitions and amazing science shows.

South Australian Aviation Museum

Pinnaroo Farm Machinery Museum

The museum houses a collection of various equipment and items relating to early farming life.

C.L. Alexander Museum

Local history of the district from 1880. Special sections on agriculture, entertainment, sports, marine, schools, churches, transport, household items, photographs, maps and books. The museum if also responsible for the care of Stokes Methodist Church and Pioneer Women's Memorial.

Army Museum of South Australia

The museum is situated within Defence Centre - Adelaide's Keswick Barracks. The Barracks were established in 1912 when the Army moved from North Terrace, Adelaide, to a fringe parklands area at Keswick.

Port Victor Gallery

The gallery displays a collection of paintings by local artist's in varying mediums depicting subjects and local scenes of the Fleurieu Peninsula. The gallery is housed in a refurbished building, once a bakery, in a heritage area of what was once known as Port Victor.50-100 items

Sagasco Historical Group Museum

The museum is situated in a 130 year old building set among others of the same era which formed part of a former gas works. In the museum is a collection of vintage gas appliances, gas making plant and records.
