Clarendon, one of the great Georgian houses of Australia, was completed in 1838 for the wealthy woolgrower and merchant, James Cox. He was the second son of William Cox who pioneered the first road over the Blue Mountains in New South Wales.

The most historic of the Trust houses, Entally is thought to have been built in 1819 by Thomas Haydock Reibey, the eldest son of Mary & Thomas Reibey of Sydney. Shipping interests brought Thomas Reibey to Tasmania as early as 1816.Entally House was opened to the public in 1950 and is justly proud of its magnificent collection of Regency furniture and fine silverware. The Golden Dragon Museum is the first museum in Victoria to become accredited through the museum accreditation program in 1997. This Gallery is housed in a purpose built structure, and is set in 4.5 hectares of cultivated bushland which is being developed as an Australian Sculpture Park. The collection consists of over 1000 works, specialising in works on papers such as Australian and English watercolours of the 18th and 20th centuries. The Gallery also focuses its collecting in Australian Sculpture, of which many modern pieces are on permanent displays in the grounds. There is also a notable collection of Meldrum School paintings.
Coolart is an historic farming property with buildings dating from the 1860s. A 100 years old mansion houses historic photographs and art exhibitions. The Collection of the Victorian College of the Arts has been formed from the institution's earliest days as the National Gallery School of Art, and consists of works of art in most media acquired from students and staff of the School of Art, together with works by visiting artists and donations. In 1992 this was augmented by a merger with Victoria College (Prahran School of Art), which brought in its similar collection.

At present, due to resource constraints, the Collection is not on public display, except for a small number of works hung in public areas of the College. Plans are in progress...
