New Norfolk Historical Information Centre Committee

Historical searches, including burial records are conducted and written reports are provided. Displays of historic information, including photographs are mounted at numerous functions within the Derwent valley municipality. Tours are conducted of the Willow Court historical site in New Norfolk.

Chauncy Vale Wildlife Sanctuary

Chauncy Vale, which was gazetted as a Tasmanian wildlife sanctuary in 1946, is located 40 Km north of Hobart and 4 Km east of the town of Bagdad. It is recognised as a valuable heritage and natural environment site.

Launceston Planetarium

The Launceston Planetarium presents shows on many aspects of astronomy. You will see the southern night sky projected onto a domed ceilng with additional special visual effects and commentary. The effect is so realistic, it is like being out under the stars!

Community History Centre - Queen Victoria Museum & Art Gallery, Inveresk

The Community History Collection is part of the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery. It can be accessed via the database. There are also printed guides of some parts of the Collection. All secondary material is available without appointment.

Bowen Commemorative Historical Centre

The museum has been developed solely by volunteers and is wholly independent in that it does not solicit private or government funding. The site is situated very near to the first British settlement of Tasmania at Disdon Cove (1803).

Rosny Historic Centre

The Rosny Historic Centre, located in the heart of Rosny Park, comprises Rosny Barn, Rosny Cottage and Schoolhouse Gallery. The barn, one of the oldest in Australia, is an impressive example of early stone construction built around 1815.
