Downing Herbarium, Macquarie University

The herbarium is a research and teaching collection, specializing in local Sydney flora. Smaller special collections include material from Northern Australia, Antarctica, and western NSW. The principal aim of the collection is to provide a service to students and staff at Macquarie University. It is available by prior arrangement to visitors from the wider community.

Collection: 

The main collection is stored in boxes in a compactus system in Room 148 of building E8C at Amcquarie University. Bryophytes, Lichens and Fungus are stored in steel cabinets in building E8C150. The collection is useful to people needing identification of local plants. It does not mount displays.
