Maronite Heritage Centre

The Maronite Heritage Centre is situated on the grounds of St. Maroun's Cathedral, Redfern; located in the Cathedral’s Hall.
As part of the Eastern Catholics, the Maronite Heritage Centre displays its unique Liturgical and Traditional dimensions. Culturally it brings to life the vivid history of the Austalian Maronite community. The centre explores the lives and diverse experiences of the Maronite pioneers through letters, stories and audiovisual accounts. It also profiles distinguished Maronites who made great contributions to Australia. The centre displays artefacts from Lebanon and shall also highlight the experiences of the Australian Maronites and the rich tapestry they have weaved in Australia. It also intends to play an interactive role with the community, especially with its younger members.
We hold a number of Maronite antique prayer books, some of which are still used in the Liturgies today. The Centre also displays many liturgical items that are identifiable across the Catholic Church.
We hope to be an education facility to the wider Australian Community and present our beloved Maronite Heritage.

- A reference library that have books written in Arabic, English, French, Syro-Aramaic
- The relique that held the relics of St. Raqca, St. Nemetallah and St. Charbel

The collection and exhibitions consist of the following three themes:
1) The Ancient Phoenician World,
2) Maronite Liturgy and Culture, and
3) The Maronite Migration.
