The Museum seeks to depict aspects of Lithuanian life and culture, particularly for the benefit of the younger generation. The enginehouse has been fully restored (1986), apart from the original engine. A scale model (1:16) is fully operational and explained by guides. Alpine villages, rivers, lakes among the forests, the railways and culture, are all presented with a background of lively Swiss music.
