Quilting as major design element Quilts

Wholecloth quilt from Macedonia. Both sides are made of satin. Old gold colour on one side and burgundy on the other. It is machine quilted with 3 parallel lines of stitching around the edge and a double row of stitching forming triangles in the centre. The padding is raw cotton grown in (FYRO) Macedonia.

A Durham quilt. All white mercerised cotton. The quilting is a floral design in each corner, a large floral design in the centre, edging all around of scallops and filled in with small squares on the diagonal. It is padded.
2000 x 2400mm
Cot quilt with both sides of faded blue cotton sateen with pale brown moire effect lines. Piped edges. Machine quilted to form two borders around a central rectangular panel, which has a simple but decorative stitched design with six points, at each of which is a small eyelet, finished with cream thread. The padding is feathers.
