Australian Museum of Motion Picture Technology

Our main objective is to create a community awareness of Australia’s contribution to the ongoing evolution of the moving image industries and applications by promoting the technologies used, innovations developed and the people, entities and related services involved. The long term goal is to establish permanent displays in all regions to exhibit and demonstrate the evolving technologies and to tell the stories of the pioneers who shaped our nation’s social culture through the use of moving images to entertain and inform our communities. Also to recognize the many un-heralded Aussie inventions and innovations that have changed the face of the international motion picture and television industries. This includes our contemporary crafts people who are now dominating the world stage with their expertise. These are the stories that need to be told to engender a sense of community pride in what Australians have and continue to achieve.
