Geraldton Region Museum

The Museum is a branch of the Western Australian Museum, and consists of two buildings. The historic Old Railway Building holds displays on natural history on the first floor - flora and fauna of the Midwest region. The ground floor has social history displays. The Maritime Display Building houses artefacts from the Dutch shipwrecks Batavia, Zuytdorp and Zeewijk. The Museum employs an Education Officer and conducts programs throughout the year including school holiday programs and heritage tours to the nearby Abrolhos islands. A program of public lectures is conducted at intervals during the year.
