Western Australian Museum

The Western Australian Museum comprises of seven branches including Perth, Fremantle, Geraldton, Albany and Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Our vision is to develop with the people of Western Australia a vital, innovative museum and enhance appreciation and understanding of our natural environment and cultural heritage.

Collections and research at the WA Museum are centered on systematics, ecology, biogeography and evolution of living and fossil organisms, palaeontology, mineralogy, meteoritics, anthropology and archaeology, history, maritime history, maritime archaeology and conservation. The Museum's collections, which have been accumulated over more than 100 years, includes some three million artefacts/specimens ranging from boats to beetles and their associated data.
