Historic Display

The museum is situated in ten hectares of parkland and houses a vast display of mining era memorabilia: housing, dairy display, mining equipment etc. It also features a railway museum and a light horse museum. The winding engine operates under steam a minimum of four times a year.Over 4,000 items

The Winton and District Historical Society have operated the Qantilda Museum since 1972. The members of the society are volunteers who donate their time to help educate people about the pioneers who built the outback. During the 28 year existence of the historical society a huge collection of outback memorabilia and artworks have been accumulated, documented and set out in such a way as to educate people on the livelihood of the aboriginal inhabitants and, the livelihood of the districts settlers and their descendants. The Museum is a heritage style building with a large veranda, the building is situated within a lovely park setting. The Museum presents a comprehensive series of displays, including an Aboriginal interpretive display, early pioneers and settlers hut, and a valuable collection of historical memorabilia. An early fire cart, a turn of the century telephone exchange and rail ambulance are but a few of the interesting exhibits on display. This display concentrates on the history of the Port of Maryborough and how the city developed around the Port (an important river port and the Port of Entry for immigration)Approximately 5,000 items. The village consists of over 60 buildings of Historical Significance to the Caboolture Shire and Environs. All the buildings are appropriately furnished or used for other useful and interesting purposes. About 2,000 photographs are on display, arranged according to local district, all housed in the former one-room Walloon Shire Chambers. Information on pioneer families is available. Mackay City Council Library Services Local History Collection acts as a repository and reference source for printed Local History. The Historical Pictorial Collection contains over 5000 images of Mackay, its people and the surrounding area. The Stock Exchange, a grand masonry building on the main street, was built as The Royal Arcade in 1888. The Stock Exchange occupied the building in 1890.

A display of smaller objects and pictorial and written material of local and cultural significance attached to Cunnamulla Library.This is a small but interesting collection with a library in front. It mostly consists of written and pictorial items of historical and cultural significance including, old photographs and items such as bottles, irons, books, aboriginal stones and old types of equipment.
The Cardwell Museum holds material in two library buildings (Cardwell and Tully). This consists mainly of historical photographs, although objects are beginning to be acquired. All items are of local interest to the Cardwell Shire area. The Raspberry Creek Homestead was moved to Byfield from the Shoalwater Bay Military area in 1987. Its buildings and items are appropriate to a remote cattle property pre 1950. The site includes a library, and museum artefacts will be on display for special occasions.
The Wide Bay Hospitals Museum is a small museum housed in the Maryborough Base Hospital complex, cared for by a small group of past trained nurses and friends. It contains mostly items pertaining to the hospital and the medical profession. These include originals plans of the hospital built 1887; minutes of board meetings, early records of births and deaths, surgical instruments and apparatus, dental and pathology articles, reference books donated by doctors, and silverware from private section of hospital.Approximately 600
The Temple contains statues of the god of war, the goddess of mercy, the god of harvest, Lao Tsu of Taoism, and Confucius and his disciples; also an urn where symbolic paper money is offered to the gods to invoke their blessings. The statues and fancy work of the altar are all hand carved.

Bundaberg Steam Tramway Preservation Society Incorporated (BSTPS) trading as Australian Sugar Cane Railway is located in the Botanical Gardens, Bundaberg North, Queensland, Australia.
The society is a Not-For-Profit organisation operated and maintained by volunteers (NO paid employees).

The aim of the society is to Restore, Maintain and Operate Steam Locomotives that were utilised in the Bundaberg district to haul Sugar Cane to the areas Juice and Sugar Mills. While doing this it is also to bring awareness to present and future generations of the machinery used by our pioneering families....

Our Chinchilla Museum has restored Pioneer cottage - fully furnished. Prickly Pear story from devastation to eradication. Traction steam engines, vintage motor vehicles, horse drawn vehicles, original Chinchilla state school, fully furnished - Two halls containing collection of Memorabilia of yesteryear: fully restored dairy and cream shed.Over 5,000 items on display, including farm machinery, horse drawn vehicles, well appointed library housing history of Chinchilla and its pioneers. First Chinchilla school (1883) on grounds containing early school memorabilia.
Historical railway artefacts, housed in Bundaberg's original station building, surrounding by other historical railway building and rolling stock. Large collection of items used by railway staff in past days, photos, plans and drawings, rule books, driving manuals, appendix and daily work books as used in years gone by.
