Providing services to group visitors to the Museum is a major role of the education section.  In 1996/97 over 20,000 individuals visited in organised groups.  Approximately 70% of these groups were schools, with half of the 300 schools in the Hunter Region having visited at least once during the year.  A growing number of schools from the Central Coast are also visiting the Museum.

The Education Department can provide groups with worksheets for both temporary and permanent exhibitions.
