The Mitchell and State Reference Libraries are open Monday - Friday 9.00am - 9.00pm. The State reference Library is open Saturday and Sunday 11.00am - 5.00pm. Mitchell Library is closed on Sunday.

Collection:
The Mitchell Library and the Dixson Library form the Australian Research Collections of the State Library of New South Wales. These Collections contain materials in a variety of formats relating to Australia and the south-west Pacific, with special emphasis on the state of New South Wales.
All kinds of published and unpublished materials are held, including books, magazines, journals, government reports, pamphlets, posters, programs, sheet music, manuscripts, archives, oral history tapes, computer disks, maps, paintings, drawings, photographs, prints and architectural plans.
