The Golden Dragon Museum is the first museum in Victoria to become accredited through the museum accreditation program in 1997. The Golden Dragon Museum provides a living history of The Chinese people of Bendigo from the goldrush of the 1850's to the present day. Central to the permanent display is Sun Loong, the longest imperial dragon in the world. Northcote Pottery has been producing terracotta pottery for over one hundred years. The historic site houses a variety of pottery manufacturing business from Australia's largest manufacturer of terracotta garden pots, to small artist studios. The remaining arched brick wood fired kiln has been converted into a potters gallery which exhibits the best of Victorian pottery.

The Nunawading and District Historical Society Inc. maintains a furnished cottage (c1885) built from local stone, a barn, wine cellar, blacksmith's shop, smokehouse, a museum and an orchard and domestic machine area.About 3,000 artifacts including costumes, lace, handicrafts, tiles and clay products, orchard farming implements, toys, blacksmith's forge and tools, antique furniture and domestic equipment. There are also 3,000 photographs and more than 3,500 documents, books and maps.
Our Museum consists of a house and various out buildings located on two town blocks in Port Welshpool. The collection is spread over the whole area. Our strong point is the early fishing industry in Corner Inlet, including a daily diary kept by the Smith family from 1887-1958. Churchill Island is a State Park and Sanctuary which features historic buildings, artefacts and an Agricultural Museum. The historic buildings date from 1866. The Latrobe Regional Gallery is Eastern Victoria's premier art gallery. Following an extensive refurbishment, the gallery reopened to the public in June 2003. This pre-fabricated timber mansion was imported from Germany and erected in 1855 for Charles Ibbotson, a partner of Frederick Dalgety. While the interior of the house was re-furbished by its owners in the 1930s, the grounds and gardens remain much as they were in the nineteenth century, complete with stone water tower, stables and dovecote. A decorative arts collection is displayed within the mansion. A small collection of fine Georgian furniture is also on display, collected by the last owners, Marnie and Louis Whyte - Charles Ibbotson's grandson.2000 objects

The Gallery holds a collection of European and Australian paintings, prints and decorative arts from the 1700s, ethnographic material, antiquities and oriental decorative arts. The Portland CEMA Arts Centre is a multipurpose venue utilised by community organisations and hirers for meetings, workshops, rehearsals performance and exhibitions. Its collection includes a selection of prints, drawings, watercolours and oil collected during the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Highlights are a selection of Botanical drawings by the late Colin Woolcock and commissioned works in copper by the late Ronald Skate (c1980).
