Quilt No.349THS - Tamworth Historical Society Inc
Made by Catherine Roberts in Braidwood NSW in 1887. Given to their son Wm. Clifton Oliver in 1920 when he married Ethel Bottomley. Mrs. E. Oliver donated it to the Tamworth Historical Society.
" It was made by Catherine Roberts for her marriage to William Oliver at Braidwood on 13 July 1887. They moved to Goulburn and lived there till 1934. It was given to their son Wm.Clifton Oliver when he married English girl, Ethel Bottomley in Sydney in 1920. They moved to various places in NSW with the Lands Dept. Their daughter remembers the quilt being used on elder brother, Gordon's bed when they were in Hay. His bed was on the verandah. Mr. and Mrs. W.C.Oliver lived in Tamworth from 1945 till 1998."
