Mornington and District Historical Society Inc.

Mornington & District Historical Society has a small museum housed in the Old Mornington Post Office. We have been in existence for 43 years and have an extensive collection of memorabilia relating to the Mornington Peninsula, in particular Mornington and the surrounding district. Research can be carried out at the museum. Being housed in the heritage listed Old Post Office we also have old telephones and equipment on display. On most Sundays a member of the Morsecodians is available to send and receive old style telegrams for a very reasonable fee. These will then be posted to the recipient. Mornington is situated on the Mornington Peninsula 13 kms from Frankston and an hours drive from Melbourne along the Nepean Highway.

The once small but important coastal town has grown over the past 150 plus years into a thriving busy holiday destination.
