Rockhampton Municipal Library Service

The Central Queensland Collection contains a wide range of materials relating to the Central Queensland area, which includes the area north to Sarina, south to Miriam Vale and west to the border. The collection is housed in the Southside Library under special conditions to ensure preservation. It includes both current and historical materials and caters for the needs of all researchers, both amateur and professional, including family historians. There are books, journals, photographs, newspapers, microforms, family, business and club records and Rockhampton City Council Archives. The Central Queensland Racing hall of Fame and Museum which is now part of the collection, contains over 1,000 items, including artefacts, photographs and archival materials.
