The Centre was established as a Centenary of Federation project.

Fourteen rooms have designated aspects of Cootamundra's history and a large room contains mixed and more temporary displays. Of particular interest are the Mullins' dioramas, the Anglican Church reredos, the gasworks collection, the Stockinbingal telephone exchange ......
