The history of the district is illustrated with an eclectic collection of domestic and social objects, and significant Wiradjuri objects and a timeline of gold mining at Cadia Valley. We're surrounded by important sites of gold exploration in NSW and hold some significant items relating to John Lister who is buried in Milthorpe and other gold related objects from the nearby Cadia Mine site. Cadia operates still and has been mined for over a hundred years.
There's also a working blacksmith shop which you can see in action on the Museum's special demonstration days.
