Vaughan Evans Library, Australian National maritime Museum

The Vaughan Evans Library is a research library with a specialist collection of resources in the areas of museology, maritime history and ship technology.

The Library collection supports the research needs of the exhibitions and collecting themes of the Australian National Maritime Museum. The themes covered are Maritime Technology; Australian Navel History Service; Convicts and Refugees; Australian American Maritime Experience; Shipping and Trade; Sport and Lifestyle; Indigenous Communities; Maritime Archaeology.

Collection: 
The collection contains Lloyds Register of Shipping; Lloyds Lists; newspapers on microfilm; oral histories; diary transcripts; surfing magazines and videos; 18th and 19th century seamanship manuals. The library also has in-house indexes and databases as well as online databases.
