Situated in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, at the top of the Murray River, Corryong is surrounded by national parks, rugged mountain ranges, and sparkling streams and rivers.
The Man From Snowy River Museum has an excellent collection of historic artefacts including restored settlers buildings and early skiing equipment. Corryong is the final resting place of Jack Riley, the inspiration behind Banjo Patterson's Man From Snowy River.
Falls Creek
The Mountain town of Falls Creek is located in the Bogong high plains and has been operating as a ski resort resort since the mid 20th century when there was just one lodge. The area today consists of a large amount of luxury accomodation available to tourists.
Mount Buffalo
Mount Buffalo, with its stunning scenery, wild flowers in summer, and snow in winter, is one of Victoria's most popular tourist areas. The Mount Buffalo national park covers and area of 31,000ha that contains streams, waterfalls, gorges, and interesting flora and fauna.

Myrtleford is near Bright in the Ovens Valley region in north Victoria. It is the centre of the hops and tobacco growing industry in north east Victoria. This pretty, peaceful town hosts the Myrtleford Hops Timber and Tobacco Festival each Autumn.
Rutherglen
The Rutherglen region is famous for its red wines, fortified wines and ports.
One of the oldest winegrowing areas in Australia, Rutherglen was first settled in 1836.

The twin cities of Albury and Wodonga are split by the Murray River. Albury is on the NSW side, and Wodonga is located on Victorian soil. Wodonga, which is located at the junction of the Hume and Murray Valley Highways, is somtimes refered to as the northern 'gateway' to the Victorian Alps.
A Food and Wine Festival is held anually - it offers a range of local fare such as cheeses, smoked trout, mustards, and wines.
