Located on the Victorian side of the Murray River in the Sunraysia irrigation area, Mildura was once a river port that was serviced by paddle steamers. The Canadian Chaffey Brothers put the area under irrigation in 1887. Grapes and citrus fruits are the main crops grown in the area.
Ouyen
Located in the Murray Mallee area Victoria and 470km from Adelaide, Ouyen is at the centre of a livestock and grain producing region and is surrounded by extensive plains.
The Wyperfeld National Park is located to the south of Ouyen and is recognized as one of Victoria's most important wilderness areas. The more arid Hattah Kulkyne and Murray Kulkyne National Parks are located to the north.

Situated on the Murray River Swan Hill is the service centre for a large irrigation area. The Swan Hill Pioneer settlement recreates the life of a those who first developed this farming area.
