Boiler House Steam and Engine Museum

As part of the North Pine Country Park Historic Precinct, operated by the Pine Rivers Shire Council, our all volunteer society operates the boiler house to keep alive the machines which helped to bring industry and prosperity to our state. It provides a unique learning experience for members and visitors alike.

Collection: 
The boiler house has a unique collection of large steam engines, plus a number of smaller ones, that run on live steam. It also includes a 1900 traction engine, numerous old stationary engines and tractors, trucks and other memorabilia.

This traction engine originally worked at Dalby, Qld until C1960. Acquired by the Australian Army, it was donated to QSVMS when the regiment was disbanded.

This engine is one of four that were built for the dredge 'Townsville' at Newcastle NSW in 1952, based on the 'Remora' built by Krupps, Germany C1906. Later renamed 'Brisbane' the Dredge was scrapped in Brisbane C1982.

This large generating set was one of three that were installed at the Tully, Qld Sugar Mill C1903. They were later moved to Moreton Sugar Mill C1949. This engine was rebuilt from parts of all 3.

This engine was built in Glasgow Scotland in 1926 for the Moreton Sugar Mill, Nambour Qld. Replaced by steam turbines, it was rebuilt by QSVMS C1990.
