National Trust of Queensland
The National Trust of Queensland is a community-based membership organisation which works to conserve and promote Queensland's cultural heritage. The Trust was formed by a small group of people in 1963.
The National Trust of Queensland maintains an inventory of places important to our heritage. Such places do not need to be old, although some are, and they do not need to be grand. There are fine houses on the Register, but there are also cottages, factories, mines, churches, lighthouses, bridges and railways. About one fifth of the listings are natural sites. See separate guide entries for the following National Trust of Queensland owned properties: Brennan and Geraghty's Store, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Hou Wang Temple, James Cook Museum, National Trust Heritage Centre, Stock Exchange Arcade, Tent House, The Royal Bull's Head Inn, Wolston House and the Charters Towers Museum.
