Anthropology
The owner, Miss Crouch, spent 26 years in Papua New Guinea in medical work. She shares something of this experience with visitors to the Centre. The Display Centre is her own property. As well as fossils and artefacts from the Highlands of Papua New Guinea the display includes rocks and minerals from many parts of the world. Donations made are sent towards medical work in Papua New Guinea.
The Royal Geographical Society of South Australia is located in the State Library of South Australia on North Terrace, Adelaide. Founded in 1885 to further the exploration of South Australia, today the society's emphasis is on the natural and cultural environment. The museum holds an anthropology collection within the school of Political and Social Inquiry at Monash University. Begun initially as a teaching collection, all of the artefacts have been donated to or sold to the museum by people with affiliations to the university in general or to the anthropology and sociology disciplines in particular.
