Description:
Red Applique on an off white background. All applique is by hand using herringbone stitch. Three different red materials are used for the applique each printed with a different tiny all over pattern. There are 3 different applique shapes: the 9 major shapes have 8 points; the daisy pattern has 8 petals; the edge pattern is used along the top, left and half of the bottom edge of the quilt and sometimes has 4 points, sometimes 3 and sometimes 2. History:
It is not known whether the maker was Anna Edwards or where it was made or the actual date of making,
"In 1954 Dorothy and Bill Skinner bought 'The Doctor's House' at 1 Thompson Square Windsor, N.S.W�����By 1970 (and probably long before this) the quilt was on the four poster bed in the guest bedroom of the Skinner's house. Dorothy was an antique dealer, and it is thought that she bought the quilt from two old ladies, or perhaps they gave it to her. The Skinners sold the house in 1995. Mrs. Skinner had died. Their son Stephen and his wife Deirdre had the quilt. They are now separated, Deirdre sold the quilt to me in July 1998��."

Padding for a utilitarian quilt that originally had a wholecloth cover. The padding is up to 3 layers of woollen scraps and pieces of used clothing, including hand knitting. White cotton tacking and overcast stitches hold all layers in place. The backing is a cream wool blanket with woven stripes.

Wholecloth cot quilt of floral cotton in a pattern of pink roses, green leaves, and blue ribbons. Paddiong is old blanketing, and backing is a soft fawn twill. The cotton was the same fabric as the bedroom curtains. No quilting.

4 Pieces of a patchwork quilt which was formerly a whole quilt. It is pieced in cottons in blues reds and browns in many prints. There are whole circles and pieced circles against a plain cream calico background. It is wool lined and is quilted. There are the initials 'A.B.' and '1828' on a central piece. The 4 pieces are various sizes.
