Description:
Hand sewn crazy patchwork quilt, mainly cottons with some rayon and one nylon patch, mostly dress materials with some furnishing cottons. All seams are embroidered in feather stitch in blue embroidery thread stitched through to a calico backing. 3 sides have a wide border of mid green cotton machine stitched on.

History:
The maker is unknown. The quilt was owned by Mr Leonard William Simpson and family and is believed to have been made between 1950 and 1960. It is now part of the quilt collection of the National Trust, WA and is stored at Woodbridge, Midland, WA.

cottons pieced in squares and rectangles within 2 frames, the inner border or frame of blue/green check material, then 2 rows of squares and rectangles, the outer frame of a grey and red geometric pattern and 2 rows of squares or rectangles. Backing of plain fabric. Machine stitched on a treadle machine.

Cotton quilt entirely of hesagons. Some are formed into rostttes or flowers and have a print border of 12 hexagons, an inner circle of 6 hexagons in a plain colour and a yellow hexagon centre. The padding is cotton wool and the backing plain off white cotton.
