History:
Made by Augusta Ruby Craigie (born West) at Kanwall, near Wyong, NSW, in the 1930s. Known as 'the wagga rug'. Owned by Augusta Craigie, then her daughter Jean "Bonnie" Gilbert (born Craigie), then passed on to the current owner, Augusta's granddaughter and Bonnie's daughter, Rhonda Graham (born Gilbert), in Toowoomba (Qld).
Story:
Made for a weekender, which had six double canvas bunks, and a quilt was made for each bunk. Augusta's brother-in-law was a tailor and her sister a tailoress, so many 'wagga' rugs were made from tailors' samples for the weekender.
