The quilt was made by Mrs. Sedina Marshall in Bicheno Tasmania in the 1890s. It is not used and is stored at the owner's home.

Story:

Margaret Knoop found this quilt top in a second hand junk shop in south Tasmania in 1992. The shop owners supplied information on the maker's name and the district it was made in.
Margaret has now tacked the top on to a calico backing for support and protection.

The owner has restored the quilt. The backing is a soft cotton in indigo blue and the padding is flannelettte.
