Description:
Hexagon quilt in dress and shirting cottons constructed in frame style with a centre rosette of 7 patches surrounded by 4 borders of patterned hexagons alternating with cream patches. The quilt has an inner border of triangles then rows of rosettes alternating with cream patches. The outer border is triangles. There is no padding. The backing is cream linen and has had a 20th century white cotton sateen slipstitched to it.

History:
The maker was Mrs Morrison in Stornoway, Scotland in the 1860s. It was then owned by her daughter Mrs John Hassell, Kendenup, WA and donated to the National Trust WA by Elizabeth Atkins grand-daughter of the maker. It is now stored at Woodbridge, Midland WA

Taylor's sample quilt made from men's suit swatches, mainly greys and blues. Edging is 6cms wide, of blue flannelette. Padding is an old grey blanket, and the backing is of printed pattern corduroy. 1680 x 920 mm.
