Description:
The quilt is double bed size, white, damask type material with a pale pink light cotton backing. The quilt itself is made up of rectangular pieces which are laid out in a pattern and joined to each other with 'suffolk puff' patches of the same white material. The edge is crocheted wheels with tassels made about 100mm long, hanging about 50mm apart all the way around.

History:
The label in the showcase at the Narrandera Historical Society's Parkside Museum reads: "Made by Mrs Clayton while living with her son who was bookkeeper on Berandara Station, c.1870."
The quilt was donated by Miss E. Walker of Cremorne Sydney to the Narrandera and Sturt Historical Society.

Machine pieced cotton quilt, in random design of geometric pieces. Materials used are cotton sheeting, dress fabrics, broderie anglaise, and seersucker. There is no padding, and backing is white curtain lining.

Double sided utility quilt made from machine pieced squares of tailors' samples and men's and boy's suitings. The padding is 5 or 6 layers of pieced used clothing including darned, threadbare socks, part jumpers, blanket pieces etc.

Pieced patchwork quilt of hexagons in cottons, chintzes and linen. The centre is pieced in 6 point hexagon stars, then radiating out are large hexagons alternating with tumbling blocks, then 6 piece hexagon stars and 4 piece hexagon diamonds. Some pieces have Egyptian patterns dating from 1800 - 1805. The backing is cream linen.
