Hexagon quilt in the form of rosettes often called 'Grandmother's Flower Garden'. Wide variety of materials including solid coloured homespuns, floral prints and American feed sacks. There is a padding of soft cotton and a backing of calico. 1930 x 1540mm
History:
The quilt was made by Ada M. Samaniego in Colorado USA in 1930. It was a wedding quilt for her daughter, La Homa White. It is now owned by the maker's grand-daughter, La Dona Anick in Australia. It is not used.
Story:
"I treasure it because it was made by my grandmother and I only have the 2 quilts left that she has made. She was a very busy woman bringing up her own 5 and fostering others along the way. She never sat down in a chair that she didn't have something in her hand, crochet, quilting etc." [ La Dona Anick]

The owner has restored the quilt. The backing is a soft cotton in indigo blue and the padding is flannelettte. Cotton quilt of pieced hexagons and some diamonds made for a baby's basket. Colours are mainly blue and pink and two 'Punch and Judy's' are appliqued in the centre. There is no padding and the backing is a cotton floral in blues and greens.

American quilt in 'Dresden Plate' pattern. Hand stitched, Wide variety of cotton materials used in plain and patterned materials. The backing is cream cotton. It is hand quilted. This quilt was made from an American McCalls pattern consisting of transfers for the pieces and for the quilting design.

Patchwork quilt made from brightly coloured printed cotton fabrics in hexagon patches hand sewn together in rosettes, and stitched by machine onto a border of green moire taffeta. No padding. Backing is green cotton satin curtain lining. There is a matching pillow sham.
