Quilt top has a white background with pink and purple applique hearts and stars in the centre within a pink circle and square border, letters are appliqued in pink. Inscription is: 'Mary Hunt is my name Dapto is my dwelling place When I am dead and all my'� (incomplete)

History:
The applique quilt top was made by Mary Hunt (maiden name), the owner's great grandmother, around 1860.
Mary Hunt was married in the late 1860s, and lived at 'Kembla Grange' at Dapto [NSW]. This house was pulled down in the early 1960s.
Story:
The applique quilt top is unfinished, the maker died before she finished it. It has not been used.

Wholecloth pram quilt with a top of pink cotton sateen, and the reverse is a more finely woven, ivory, fabric. All over quilting design as main feature, with stylised hearts, leaves and cross hatching. The padding is cotton batting. 870 x 660 mm.
Hand stitched, cotton, appliquéd, quilt in a flower pattern on a plain background. Colours are shades of green, apricot and browns. This quilt was known as a 'Bride's Quilt'. Padding is thought to be layers of white fabric raised almost like a wadding. The backing is cotton material. 2470 x 2020 mm.

The quilt is machine sewn, hand quilted, has a white backing and a thin black binding on the border. The padding is polyester.

Wholecloth quilt with top and backing made from coarsley woven linen. The edges are bound with paisley printed material. The quilting pattern consists of a series of whorls in different sizes. The padding is fleece wool.

Wholecloth quilt, machine sewn, made from cotton chintz with a pale green background and a floral pattern of bunches of pink roses and blue flowers, reversible. The centre is stitched in a diamond pattern with two outside borders, then filled with feathers, using a broom handle to force the feathers through. Cover made from 36" fabric, the pattern matched exactly. Excellent condition. Feather filling was collected by the makers from backyard poultry, geese, ducks, fowls. Called an eiderdown.
