Description:
Patchwork quilt made from squares of wool and cotton fabrics, from dressing gown material, skirts, and corduroy. Machine sewn onto a cotton counterpane woven in stripes of red, blue, black on white. Colours of fabrics are red, blue, yellow, white and grey, with a dark grey check. Sewn on a treadle sewing machine.

Made and owned by Win Groves in 1967 at Pingrup, WA. Made for her son John.
Story:
The quilt was made for warmth on a farm at Pingrup, WA. It was a bought bedspread on to which were stitched pieces of worn skirts, dressing gowns, dresses and other pieces of warm materials. They were stitched on to the 'bed size' with the edges left to hand to the floor.

Wholecloth quilt in white cotton voile with alternating designs of Australian wildflowers worked in multi coloured cottons and shadow work. It is backed with yellow voile. There is no padding.

This 'Quilt' is made from an army great coat from the second world war. The seams have been unpicked and pieced together by machine zig-zagging the flat edges (with Singer treadle sewing machine). The pocket slits are turned back and seamed rather than being pared off. The outside edges are turned over and blanket stitched in red. It does not have a backing.

Quilt in a wide variety of patterned and plain hexagons in cotton with a wide green border. There is no padding and the backing is cotton.

Yellow and white cotton Durham quilt with centre panel of patchwork blocks in counterchange design called 'Plate'. There is a wide yellow border and square white corner blocks. It is padded and there is a yellow backing. It is quilted all over following the patchwork pattern in the centre panel. Feather pattern border.
