Description:
Log Cabin quilt using scraps of cotton, silk, velvet, velveteen, machine pieced on to calico. The backing is cotton printed material. There is red fringing all around the quilt.

History:
The quilt belonged to Kathleen Mary Sheridan (Moras) 1904-1992 who won it in a CWA raffle in Gulgong NSW in the 1950s. It is now owned by her daughter-in-law Margaret. It is used occasionally.
Story:
Kathleen Mary Seridan was thrilled to win the quilt in a CWA fund raising raffle and it was used in each of her homes until she went into a unit. Kathleen's daughter-in-law Margaret saved it form going to St. Vinnys.

Patchwork top made of cottons, constructed with 5 by 5 rows of squared 8 point pieced stars alternating with white cross-shaped blocks (made from 4 pieces). On all sides are borders of half stars. The outer border is of rectangles of cotton prints appliquéd on to cotton to form a plaited pattern. The border only is backed with a band of cream cotton. All patches are whip stitched together.

This is one of two single bed quilts in a pattern the owner calls 'Martha Washington's Flower Garden'. Flowers are in six hexagons in a variety of prints with a plain coloured centre. The background is cream, and the backing is calico. 2500 x 1800 mm.
This Adelaide Chronicle wildflower quilt has alternating squares of green and fawn headcloth embroidered with Australian wildflowers on the fawn squares and stylised floral motifs on the green squares. It is bordered and backed with the same green material. It is padded.

Patchwork quilt has a centre of a square within a square, with rows of scraps added around it. The scraps are mainly cotton shirting fabrics and are cut in different sizes and shapes. The two long sides have a narrow red edging folded from the back. The other two sides have been 'bagged'. Filling is an unusual weave thought to be wool. Backing is a pink, red and beige floral cotton.

Cotton quilt hand pieced and hand quilted. Eigth pointed star on a white background. 7 rows of 7 stars with a 70mm border. There is a padding or interlining. The backing is plain off white cotton twill.
