History:
Helen Walker made this quilt in Albury NSW in 1950. It was used continuously on various beds in the house from 1950 until 1985 when it was donated to The Pioneer Women's Hut. The pieces were cut from jumpers Helen knitted for herself and her children. It is now displayed occasionally at The Pioneer Women's Hut.

Quilt made of 26 x 13 rectangles of woollen men's suiting samples. Each rectangle is about 70 x 130 mm. Wide variety of patterns, mainly stripes, and colous. The padding is part of a worn cream blanket and joined pieces of woollen clothing. The backing is a well worn piece of brushed cotton. Machine made.

This quilt has been strip pieced with no regular pattern. It seems a large quilt has been made then folded in half. The materials used are woollen skirting pieces in a variety of colours. It could be used either way. There is no padding and it is very heavy.

Hand pieced log cabin quilt in silks, satins and velvets. There is a silk backing machined on, possiby a later addition. The quilt has over 5000 pieced.
