Description: 
Hand sewn quilt of cotton materials constructed of 12 rows down by 12 rows across of squares with various appliqué motifs of hearts, circles, leaf sprigs, stars, fans and geometric patterns. The quilt centre has a large rectangle with an appliqué vase of flowers in a cream oval. The border consists of large triangles of alternating blue and red prints with a single green leaf appliquéd in each triangle. The backing is cream linen joined from 4 pieces, embroidered at the top in blue linen thread is: 'Sarah Evans 1806'.

History: 

The quilt was made by Sarah Evans c. 1806. It was donated to the National Trust WA by Emma David, a distant relation from Dalkeith WA. It is in storage at Woodbridge, Midland WA.

The border is made up of these stars and half-diamonds, and the entire quilt is trimmed with lace and triangular flaps made of tiny hexagons." Quilt made of tailors' swatches, machine constructed around a central frame that is mainly mid brown pieces. This is surrounded by rectangles of mainly charcoal greys and the outer border is navy blues. The backing is a heavy cotton with random green and cream and grey stripes.

Small quilt made from pieces of heavy weight wooollen coat material cut into strips and machined together. It is reversible. Each side is made from different materials but in similar colours of aqua, blue, green and beige. The 2 layers are quilted together with a few machined lines of straight stitching. It has a folded and machine stitched edge. There is no padding.
