Melbourne's Immigration Museum presents the stories of people from all over the world who re-settled in Australia seeking a better life, job opportunities or to escape conflict in their homeland. These stories are brought to life through contemporary displays of memorabilia, moving images and computer interactives.The Immigration Museum displays a range of social history artefacts from Museum Victoria's extensive collection.
The museum is operated by the Wangaratta Historical Society Inc. and is housed in the former Wangaratta Fire Station. The lower floor is divided into two display rooms and a research room, upstairs a storage area. Approximately 160 square metres of floor space. The original four roomed building, c.1888, from which the irrigation scheme for the Western Goulburn Valley was developed, was purchased and restored in 1988. This building now houses local history and information on the history of irrigation. The museum is a specialist medical history museum which is housed in College House; two linked Victorian buildings located opposite the Fitzroy Gardens on the edge of the city of Melbourne. The museum has existed in various forms since 1954. The Kyneton Museum collection is housed in a group of buildings, the most substantial of which was built in 1856 from local bluestone for the infant Bank of New South Wales. The branch was opened to service miners of the region's goldfields. Original outbuildings include kitchens, celler and stables, and these have been augmented by various outbuildings including an original settlers cottage which was relocated here in 1970. The Museum collection is housed in the old Esperance Railway Station building. It was officially opened in October 1976 and is staffed entirely by volunteers. Items from the wreckage of Skylab which crashed to earth near Esperance in 1979, a WAGR steam locomotive, exhibits from Sir Douglas Mawson's Antarctic expedition, a large agricultural machinery display, items from shipwrecks and items from early settlements make up a fascinating collection of exhibits. This eleven room wattle and daub cottage built circa 1832 consists of an entry, box room, parlour, nursery, bedroom, dining room, family room, sewing room, kitchen, laundry and side verandah. Appropriate artefacts covering several eras are in the various rooms, with display cases in every room. Set in a neat garden surroundsAccessioned photographs number 8,000. Two storey building of stone, constructed in 1870 by the Peninsular and Oriental Steamship Navigation Company as a Cooperative Society Store for their goods, employees and families. From circa 1885 the building had a variety of uses - as a printery, soft drink factory, lodging house, apartments, and railway employees barracks (1973-1991). Walkaway Station Museum, was originally Walkaway Railway Station, it was built in 1887 (architect was Poole). The building is a two storeyed section, containing Station Master's residence and office - A second building was built for a post master. In 1921 the Railway Dept. Needed another staff residence. The saving from demolition of a beautiful stone building was most important to our committee.School room, Midland Railway room, local history, records of burials, gun room, exploration room.
The collection includes scout uniforms from 1914 to the present day; trophies; shields; memorial plaques; chinaware; wood carving; pennants; flags; campfire shirts and blankets; scarves; and badges which depict the history of leader training, awards, and the youth training program in Western Australia. The emphasis is on the history of scouting in Western Australia although some international and interstate items on the history of scout groups and districts are on display.Approximately 1,000 items in library and archives; approximately 2,000 museum items.

The Museum has a collection of items relating to the local history of the the districts within the City of Belmont and resides in a purpose-built building, in early colonial style. The collections cover household items and early industries, with a special interest in horse racing. "Hands-on" activities are provided for school groups, which involves the use of early days equipment.approx. 600 photographs covering all aspects of the life and times of citizens - buildings of the area, items of everyday use in home, work and play.
Russ Cottage is a typical Yeoman's residence built on the banks of the Irwin River by Titus Russ in 1868-70 from local limestone. The cottage consists of four rooms with verandahs all around, and is furnished in the style of the early farming families with gifts from local residents. The sitting room features a portable organ which arrived in the Swan Colony with the Dent family on the "Marquis of Anglesea" on the 23/8/1829, and an octagonal table once owned by the Russ family is the centrepiece. Framed photographs of pioneer family members adorn the walls.

Onslow Museum is housed in The Old Goods Shed which was transported over by Camel Train from the Old Town of Onslow in 1925. As it is an Historical Building it has been classified by the National Trust. Many larger items, such as the train and carriage used in transport of goods from the jetty, are on The wool ramps adjacent to the building.Artifacts relating to the pioneering days of the Onslow and surrounding Ashburton/ Pilbara district, plus a collection of photographs.
