Museums Australia Western Australia Inc

MAWA is the WA state branch of Museums Australia.

The state branch office is located at the Western Australian Museum and is staffed by the Executive Officer and Administration Officer plus project staff from time to time. The branch maintains a very active program that includes:

advocacy on behalf of museums

a wide range of professional development activities

annual state conference

publications including chapter museum brochures and the newsletter (musing)

a museum+gallery award program

regular meetings of eight regional and metropolitan chapters

networking opportunities to meet with colleagues

Museums Australia (WA) is supported by the Department of Culture and the Arts, Western Australia, the Western Australian Museum and Lotterywest.

Museums Australia (WA) is proud to be associated with Lotterywest in the promotion, assessment and administration of its annual Cultural Heritage Interpretation grant program.
