Description:
Block pattern. Quarter Dresden Plate/Fan in pale yellow, dark blue and brighter blue and pale yellow triangles in border. Navy blue edge. Some fabrics coarsely woven. Hand pieced and hand quilted in a quarter fan in half triangles on edge. Straight lines on other blocks. Padding is fine cotton and the backing is fine cream coloured calico. 1900 x 1650mm
History:
The quilt was made by Mary Margaret Robiscoe, the maternal grandmother of the present owner, in Detroit Michigan USA in 1949. It then passed to her daughter Grace Robiscoe Davis who had it until 1970when she gave it to her daughter, the present owner. It is used occasionally.
Story:
"The maker of the quilt was my maternal grandmother, Mary Margaret Robiscoe. She emigrated to Detroit, Michigan USA at the turn of the century from Danzig (Poland). She made the quilt for my mother Grace Robiscoe Davis in 1949, who passed it on to me in 1970 when I came to Australia. She had made a matching doll's crib quilt for me originally (I was 5 then) but the mini-quilt is lost." [Donna Wood]

The top of this utility quilt is machine pieced rectangles of woollen materials joined in strips. It includes corduroys and velveteens and woollen tartan. The backing is an Indian cotton blanket.

Reused parts of hand knitted woollen jumpers patched together. Wide crocheted edge from wool unravelled from jumpers retrieved from the tip.

Double sided quilt. Side 1 has an off centre frame based on a hexagon and including triangles and squares in a concentric pattern. The borders are all small rectangles with a single strip of large rectangles at one end. Side 2 has a central patch of pieced shapes appliqued to the background. The borders are squares and rectangles many in striped shirting cotton. Side 1 has minimal quilting to the interlining but it does not go through to side 2. The padding is a thin sheet.
The circle (sometimes pieced hexagons) is common to other 'Craigmoor' quilts.

Patchwork quilt made from diamond patches in a variety of cotton materials set in a 'tumbling block' pattern. Patterns include geometrics, stripes, a 'Kate Greenway' print and colours are largely soft pastels, dark browns, with some reds and blues. The quilt has been cut down and a later border added. There is no padding and the backing is cream cotton.

Pieces of heavy woollen material have been strip pieced and then joined. The joined pieces have then been folded over and restitched along the sides to make a double sided quilt. It is very heavy.

Patchwork quilt of cotton hexagons in a random mix of colours and prints, the predominant colours being blue, red, green, light yellow and pastels. Patches hand sewn. There is no padding and the backing is a grey wool blanket. The top is machine stitched around the edge to the blanket.
