The Australian Racing Museum is dedicated to the preservation, study and display of the nation's racing heritage. Established in 1974, under the patronage of HRH Queen Elizabeth II, the museum celebrates the past, present and future of racing. It is the only museum devoted to horse racing in Australia.The museum's collection illustrates the diverse history of racing through a collection of artwork, trophies, colours, photographs, memorabilia, riding gear, equipment and ephemera. The collection is continually growing with an active program of acquisitions, donations and loans.
The Tilly Aston Heritage Collection is owned by Vision Australia Foundation, an organisation that has operated as a service provider for blind and vision impaired people since 1895. The collection's namesake, Tilly Aston, co founded the Association for the Advancement of the Blind (now Vision Australia Foundation), at the age of 21 and successfully obtained voting rights, transport concessions and a pension for blind people in addition to free postage for Braille material. Fremantle Prison is one of Western Australia's premier cultural heritage sites situated on 6 hectares. It was built by convict labour in the 1850s and decommissioned as an operating gaol in 1991. The City of Gosnells Museum - Wilkinson Homestead (formerly known as Orange Tree Farm) is a local history museum located in a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The Wilkinson Homestead, built in 1912, is the main museum building and is State Heritage Listed. The Wilkinson Family established a citrus orchard which became one of the largest in Western Australia. The collection and displays reflect the life of earlier times, including domestic life and agriculture. Hands-on education programs are presented by the volunteers who support staff in the work of the Museum.

The museum houses showcases which tell the history of early pioneers of Mandurah. A lifesize model of a Megamouth Shark (the original is in the WA museum) found on local beach is also on display. A schoolroom of early days is shown through a display of the original school, incorporated in the museum building. The museum building was the local police station and courthouse and includes original holding cells.<br>

Housed in an old building that has been extended. We have a small Museum which embraces a costume collection of c 2,000 pieces, an art collection of c 200 pieces, a huge photograph collection and a library. All of these are focused on Western Australian history and are run and maintained by volunteers of various trained expertise.Historic costumes and all related account remain including sewing machines, irons act. The Kojonup Historical Society have been given the responsibility of two major historical buildings in Kojonup. The military barracks, built by the 51st regiment in 1845 as a military outpost, is now a museum featuring the building's past as the outpost, a school and a private residence. Elverd Cottage is a restored Pensioner Guard Cottage. Russ Cottage is a typical Yeoman's residence built on the banks of the Irwin River by Titus Russ in 1868-70 from local limestone. The cottage consists of four rooms with verandahs all around, and is furnished in the style of the early farming families with gifts from local residents. The sitting room features a portable organ which arrived in the Swan Colony with the Dent family on the "Marquis of Anglesea" on the 23/8/1829, and an octagonal table once owned by the Russ family is the centrepiece. Framed photographs of pioneer family members adorn the walls.

The Museum is housed in the Old Police Station, Prison and Courthouse complex. The building was erected in 1870, with extensions being completed in 1873. The original building comprised a court room, police station, cell block and living quarters, and was built from locally-quarried limestone; the walls are some 450mm thick, constructed in the coarse random rubble style. The roof, which was originally wooden shingle, has been replaced by corrugated iron. A sample of the original shingles is displayed in the exhibition.

The museum represents the cultural and historical heritage of the City of Cockburn, comprising 76,000 residents and focuses on a family experience in conjunction with the open park area.
