Ivan Dougherty Gallery is a major contemporary art exhibiting space and educational resource of The University of New South Wales College of Fine Arts. It mounts approximately ten exhibitions per year, focussing on 20th century and contemporary Australian and international art of all disciplines. The exhibition is housed in a large shed located in the grounds of historic Mamre homestead that was built in the 1820s by colonial pastoralist Reverend Samuel Marsden. Other historic locations nearby include E.G. Blaxland's farm, South Creek Park, Bennett's wagon and Bronte House.Record albums contain over 3,000 traditional and contemporary Australian folk songs. Riversdale, built about 1840 as a coaching inn and residence is a fine example of a single-storey Colonial Georgian cottage set in flowering gardens. The property was purchased in 1875 by Edward Twynam, later to become Surveyor General of NSW and remained in this family until acquired by the Trust in 1967.Riversdale is renowned for its collection of fine Australian Colonial furniture, arts and craft dating from the late nineteenth century and the delightful garden.

Wollongong City Gallery is one of the largest regional art museums in Australia. The dynamic exhibition program features the Gallery's permanent collection as well as temporary exhibitions which change monthly and include local, national and international art. The Sir Hermann Black Gallery & Sculpture Terrace is owned and run by the University of Sydney Union. The University of Sydney Union is unique in New South Wales in being the only student body to maintain a gallery, sculpture terrace and a large art collection. The Gallery & Sculpture Terrace was established in 1994, and is located on the main campus of Australia's first university, the University of Sydney.

The art gallery was built and opened in 1988 and run by volunteers members of the Cooktown School of Art Society Inc. Local scenes by local artists are featured in this gallery. The Museum has a large collection of photographs covering pioneer families, Aborigines, ex-servicemen from World Wars I and II, and modern photographs - all tracing Theodore's development. In 1994 the Torres Strait Museum displays were transferred from the old Masonic Lodge on John Street to the underground section of historic Green Hill Fort. The Fort was originally intended as a first line of defence for Australia against sea invasions in the 1855 war and World War II. Rooms of the Fort have been dedicated to different themes of display. The Cordite Store houses the Wanetta Collection - a collection of gifts, souvenirs and collectables put together by Mr Reg Hockings Snr. earlier this century.
