Runnymede an 1840's sandstone Regency villa surrounded by elegant lawns and gardens, focuses on aspects of Southern Tasmania's history. Today, as a house museum, it makes a strong statement about domestic life in the colony in the 1860's. It shows people and places on the west coast of Tasmania, with an extensive display on the mount Lyell diaster, which claimed 42 lives. Other displays include old lamps, silver china, coins, tools and hospital artefacts. Household items and clothing, right down to grandma's undies. Clarendon, one of the great Georgian houses of Australia, was completed in 1838 for the wealthy woolgrower and merchant, James Cox. He was the second son of William Cox who pioneered the first road over the Blue Mountains in New South Wales.

Como is one of a few surviving large suburban estates, dating from 1847, just over 10 years after European settlement of the Port Phillip district. For 95 years it was owned by the Armytage family, prominent graziers and well known members of Melbourne Society. Much of their original furniture is in the house today. The house is surrounded by 6.5 acres of beautiful gardens.Approx. 1500 pieces of furniture and decorative art objects, mostly original to the Armytage family's period of ownership (1864-1959).
The Collection of the Victorian College of the Arts has been formed from the institution's earliest days as the National Gallery School of Art, and consists of works of art in most media acquired from students and staff of the School of Art, together with works by visiting artists and donations. In 1992 this was augmented by a merger with Victoria College (Prahran School of Art), which brought in its similar collection.

Our Museum consists of a house and various out buildings located on two town blocks in Port Welshpool. The collection is spread over the whole area.
