"Very unusual flying geese/ocean waves variation, very individual quilt, made in a variety of indigo & white 'geese' with predominantly a red and white tiny flower pattern in between but also a number of other cream and white stripes & dots. Centre to each block is a cream muslin block, some appear to be inset. Hand pieced and hand quilted in triple tramline in plain block & 1" diagonal on rest of quilt. Outer border pieced several times and looks like maker ran out of fabric. 1/4" indigo and white binding. Approx. 1880-1890." [Valerie Gorey] The padding is cotton and the backing is...
History:
Nothing is known of the maker or history of the quilt. It was purchased in Paducah Kentucky USA 1996, Great American Quilt Tour, at a stall at the fair. It is now owned by Valerie Corey's daughter, Leanne Howell. The quilt is used.

Suffolk puff quilt with each puff approximately 4cm x 4cm. The puffs are small squares rather than the more usual circles. Materials are mainly cottons and satins in a wide variety of colours and patterns. The backing is striped flannelette and is hand stitched to the top.

Double sided quilt. One side is different shapes including rectangles in various sizes in wools and men's suiting material. It is hand pieced. The pther side is mainly cottons in florals of different patterns joined in strips of varying width and machine and hand pieced. There is a 25mm binding. The padding is an old blanket.
Double sided patchwork quilt. One side has small 'Tumbling Block' pattern. The other side has larger pattern of pieced stars. It is made of silks, some printed, some solid colours mainly blues, greens cream and black. There is no padding.

Patchwork quilt of hexagon patches with a large central group of 14 rows, then groups or 'flowers' of 6 patches placed over the rest of the quilt. The colours are red, black, white and blue, in a mixture of stripes, florals and plains. No padding. Backing is a double bed sheet. Hand sewn.
