Art Gallery
In the heart of Hobart's historic Salamanca Place behind the walls of five impressive Georgian warehouses and one historic cottage is one of the most exciting, lively and innovative art centres in Australia. The Salamanca Arts Centre is home to a great many art and craft, as well as artists, craft people and art organisations. Some of Tasmania's premiere cultural venues are within the Centre, including the Long Gallery, Side Space Gallery and Peacock Theatre, each with a constantly changing program of exhibitions and performances.
This is the art gallery of the Art Society of Tasmania. It displays changing exhibitions of art by members of the Society.
The Forest and Heritage Centre tells the story of the timber industry in Geeveston with displays of old photographs, tools and equipment to explanations of the modern day timber industry accessed on computer terminals within the forest room. The W.L Crowther Library is one of the State Library of Tasmania's heritage collections. The Rosny Historic Centre, located in the heart of Rosny Park, comprises Rosny Barn, Rosny Cottage and Schoolhouse Gallery. The barn, one of the oldest in Australia, is an impressive example of early stone construction built around 1815. The display in the barn shows the history and development of Rosny Farm since white settlement. Rosny Cottage was built around 1850 and has been home to farmers, labourers and greenkeepers. This Gallery is housed in a purpose built structure, and is set in 4.5 hectares of cultivated bushland which is being developed as an Australian Sculpture Park. The collection consists of over 1000 works, specialising in works on papers such as Australian and English watercolours of the 18th and 20th centuries. The Gallery also focuses its collecting in Australian Sculpture, of which many modern pieces are on permanent displays in the grounds. There is also a notable collection of Meldrum School paintings.

The Collection of the Victorian College of the Arts has been formed from the institution's earliest days as the National Gallery School of Art, and consists of works of art in most media acquired from students and staff of the School of Art, together with works by visiting artists and donations. In 1992 this was augmented by a merger with Victoria College (Prahran School of Art), which brought in its similar collection.

The Latrobe Regional Gallery is Eastern Victoria's premier art gallery. Following an extensive refurbishment, the gallery reopened to the public in June 2003.
