Art Gallery
The Museum of Contemporary Art is Australia’s only museum dedicated to exhibiting, interpreting and collecting contemporary art from across Australia and around the world. With a continually changing program of exhibitions there’s always something new, exciting and inspiring to see at the MCA. Regular events, many of which are free, include lectures, performance and workshops throughout the year.

The Bega Valley Regional Gallery has a balanced program of exhibits ranging from the traditional to the highly abstract. The permanent collection incorporates the work of artists such as John Downton, Albert Namatjira and Hilda Rix Nicholas.90 works
The Performance Space provides a national platform for Australia's contemporary art and performance. In addition to its programs and conferences, studio workshops and training, and publishing, it presents at least 12 gallery exhibitions of performance art, installation and conceptual art per year. It does not hold a permanent collection, although its archives house posters and catalogues of each exhibitions presented.
Established in 1930, the Gallery & Museum houses an art collection which was started in 1924. The building was significantly enlarged in 1982, with the addition of the Museum section. The Gallery section presents temporary exhibitions that explores our cultural landscape. The Museum section focuses on early beach fashions, surfcraft and historical photographs. The Gallery and Museum is also active in the preservation of Manly's unique and colourful history.

The Newcastle Region Art Gallery is a leading force in regional Australia. It was the first purpose-built regional gallery in New South Wales, had the first full-time professional regional gallery director and has one of the largest regional gallery collections of some 3,000 works of art. On 1 February 2004 the new Tweed River Art Gallery opened its doors. It was officially opened by NSW Governor, Professor Marie Bashir AO. The striking purpose built gallery was designed by award winning Brisbane architect Bud Brannigan, on land generously donated by Doug and Margot Anthony. The University Art Collection, like all art collections reflects those who assembled it.
