Established in 1994, the Textile Resource Collection is located within the School of Fashion and Textiles at RMIT.
The museum is housed in a stylish colonial building originally designed as the administrative headquarters of the Borough of Sale. It houses a relatively large and diverse collection. Local government paper-based records and original council furniture are especially outstanding.
At the moment the collection is in a bad state of disrepair and is not catalogued. Collection consists of 19mm and 35mm documentary / archival / propaganda in Russian and English. These were initially in the possession of the (Russian) USSR Embassy.150 Russian Films (35mm + 19mm)
The library is maintained by the Humanist Society of Victoria. It covers 150 years of local Australian material, associated manuscripts and related records from overseas.
The Stawley Athenaeum and Library is an historical brick building, of Main Hall and Back Room, erected in 1874. The main Hall of the building houses the Library collection of books which deal with all types of subjects. The books are housed in shelves around walls of building.
Friends of J Ward Inc is a volunteer group dedicated to preserving the structure and history of J Ward Ararat. J Ward was for over 100 years the place of incarceration of Victoria's Criminally Insane.

The RAAF Museum is Australia's biggest collection of military aircraft and memorabilia relating to the rich history of the Australian Flying Corps and the Royal Australian Air Force. Regular flying displays are held.
The institute was established in 1973 to promote and encourage the study of genealogy, heraldry, family history and allied subjects throughout Australia. The institute maintains a reference and research library to assist members and the general public.
'Dromkeen' a graceful nineteenth century homestead, houses a unique collection of original artwork, manuscripts and other pre-publication material from Australian children's books. Artwork from early Australian to contemporary and indigenous works can be viewed in the gallery rooms.

The Australian Children's Folklore Collection (ACFC), housed in the Museum of Victoria, is Australia's only public archive of children's folklore. It contains games, rhymes, jokes, riddles, superstitions and other kinds of child lore from the 1940s to the present.
The Organ Historical Trust of Australia (OHTA) aims to; preserve historic organs and organ building records, stimulate public interest in pipe organs which are of national or local importance, and the encouragement of scholarly research into the history of the organ.
Ellis Cottage, erected 1865, is made of local uncut stone. The cottage is a typical farmers residence of the 1870's. The stone construction is unique in this district as most construction is weatherboard.2 000 Historic photographs, and artefacts.
